Commercial Law – All you need to know

Commercial law regulates the interaction of legal subjects and legal objects in the economy by means of regulations. In particular, it serves to protect and maintain the functionality of the economy.

The relevant legal bases in commercial law include, in particular, international law, European law, national constitutional law, as well as national laws and sub-legal legal norms.The area of commercial law is divided into public and private commercial law.

Commercial law in Germany also includes the subject matter of commercial criminal law. The criminal offences from the Criminal Code (Strafgesetzbuch, StGB), which have the particular purpose of taking into account the protection of the economy. These are corruption, insolvency and infedelity offences.
